As the war was coming to a close, the depot system was breaking down.  Federal forces forced manufactures to move facilities or close down completely.  At this point, shortcuts in manufacturing were taken.  Cloth was of a more course grade.  Cuff and collar trim was eliminated.  Patterns were simplified and minimize construction time.
